Back to Auto Blur
FAQ

Asked, answered.

Is my page content sent anywhere?+
No. All detection and blurring run inside your browser. The extension makes exactly one kind of network request — refreshing your own license code, which contains the purchase email. Browser sync may copy settings between your devices. The security page documents this behavior. Packaged scripts can be inspected; the bundled regex engine can be rebuilt from source.
Is there a free version or a trial?+
No free tier — Auto Blur is a paid product, from $1.99/month (one plan, everything included). Instead of a trial there’s a 7-day money-back guarantee on your first purchase: buy it, use everything on your own screens, and if it’s not for you, ask for a refund within 7 days and you get it in full, no questions asked — once per customer. One exception: everyone who installed Auto Blur before the paid launch keeps full access free, forever — early users made this product, and that promise stands.
Which browsers work?+
Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc and any Chromium browser today, installed from the Chrome Web Store. A Firefox build is packaged and headed to the Firefox Add-ons store; Safari requires a wrapper app and comes when demand justifies it.
Can it blur Zoom, Figma, or my whole desktop?+
No — a browser extension can only touch web pages. Native app windows, the Figma canvas, and OS-level screen sharing are out of reach for any extension (competitors claiming otherwise are blurring the web view only). It’s on the long-term roadmap as a separate desktop companion.
Does blur actually remove the text?+
No — blur is visual protection against human eyes (screen shares, demos, shoulder surfing). The text remains in the page’s code, so it is not redaction and won’t stop software from reading the page. We say this loudly because tools that don’t are selling false safety. Details on the security page.
How do payments work? What currency am I charged in?+
Checkout runs on Dodo Payments, the merchant of record — they support international cards and local payment methods, show your local currency, and handle taxes. Prices are listed in USD; you pay the equivalent. Card details never touch our servers.
What if I lose my Pro code?+
It’s in your purchase email, and any old code (even expired) refreshes instantly on the Restore page while your purchase is active. Lost the email and the code? Support reissues it after verifying the purchase.
Refunds and cancelling?+
Cancel anytime and keep what you paid for. First purchase refunds within 7 days, no questions. The full policy is on the refunds page.
Why should I trust an extension with access to my pages?+
Fair question — it’s the right one to ask of every extension. Our answers: minimal permissions (no tabs history, no webRequest, no cookies), zero telemetry, unminified source, one documented network call, and a security page that states the honest limits instead of hiding them. Trust is earned by being checkable.
